An authentic approach to timeless modernity
It is hard to deny the magic that permeates through some places. Steinach Townhouse, our hotel in the centre of Merano, is one of these places. Even before the restoration wanted by the owners - Mr. & Mrs. Botti, renowned designers and artists from Milan - brought back to life the splendour of this old 17th century farmhouse, now used as breakfast room, and the ancient four-storey building that houses most of the wonderful suites of the B&B.
The restoration of the building and farmhouse, once surrounded by a vineyard that stretched up to the cathedral, before the Steinach district came into being with its famous historic buildings, has preserved the authenticity of the spaces, based on a design approach that valued what was important. Being aware and respecting the origins, to preserve the authenticity and magic of this place.
Steinach Townhouse today
The result of its skilful restoration is a combination of large spaces and generous suites with enchanting views of the old town and the mountains. The staircase has been retained, the exterior fittings have been restored to their original colours, bathrooms have been built where the kitchens used to be, with large windows and oversized showers. The building, equipped with the most modern facilities, is furnished with a collection of Tyrolean antiques, period furniture and contemporary design pieces, creating a refined atmosphere that is an expression of Dolcevita.
The original South Tyrolean wardrobes from the 18th and 19th centuries and the extremely comfortable Sommier beds in the suites, the original tables from a 1930s first-class waiting room of the Trento station, the Marseille lamp designed by Le Corbusier in the Honesty Bar Bistro, the exceptional quality of linen, pillowcases and towels and the works of art by local artists make Steinach Townhouse a stunning combination of character and modernity, of love and care, of charm and grace.
A unique place that will make you dream.
